Yagi published the first English-language reference on the antenna in a 1928 survey article on short wave research in Japan and it came to be associated with his name. The original Yagi antenna or Yagi-Uda antenna was invented in 1926 by Shintaro Uda of Tohoku Imperial University, Sendai, Japan, with the collaboration of Hidetsugu Yagi, also of Tohoku Imperial University. He got his information from a Seattle Wireless page that had instructions on how to build a Yagi directional antenna.īuilding it on the cheap, he scaled it down and used a Pringles can. The first Pringles cantenna was made by Andrew Clapp. On this page I will show how we came up with the idea for our current Cantenna Cannon.
